LittleOne was founded in September 2014 by **Eleni Papamichaelidou**, a Reggio-Emilia trained early-years educator who returned to Athens after eight years at the Pen Green Centre in Corby, England, and her partner **Andreas Voulgaris**, a paediatric occupational therapist. The two had spent their first year back in Greece visiting twenty-three private nurseries across Attica looking for a place to send their first daughter, Iliana, and walked out of every single one disappointed — by ratios that crept past 1:8 in toddler rooms, by canteen food shipped in plastic, by playgrounds that closed at 16:00 sharp because the staff went home.
